First Tee of Tulsa 2009 Golf Program
This year (2009) is the eighth year for the First Tee program in Tulsa. It is a nationwide program funded by various corporations and organizations including Southern Hills Foundation, Hille Foundations, Tulsa Golf Inc., and the City of Tulsa. It is a program for all kids. We teach life skills through the game of golf. The First Tee of Tulsa has had in excess of 6,900 students involved in the program.
THE FIRST TEE MISSION: To impact the lives of young people around the world by creating affordable and acessible golf facilities and to teach life skills through the game of golf.
WHO IS IT FOR: All kids 8-18 years of age.
HOW TO ENROLL: Complete and return the enrollment form to Rev. Henry Smith (space is limited).
DIRECTORS: Janice Gibson, Director of The First Tee of Tulsa Class "A" PGA Professionals and Lowell Fortune, Assistant Director of The First Tee of Tulsa (Former U.S. Air Force Officer)
WHERE: Mohawk Park Golf Course. A driving range was recently constructed and the back nine of Pecan Valley has been renovated to host the First Tee Program with six sets of tees to accomodate all level of golfers.
WHEN: Classes are held spring, summer and fall at Mohawk Golf Course, 5223 East 41st Street North, Tulsa, OK 74115. Classes will be held regardless of weather. Call Rev. Smith at First Baptist Church for specific dates: 918-582-5129
EQUIPMENT: The First Tee of Tulsa will provide clubs that can be used during The First Tee classes as Mohawk Park. Tennis shoes or golf shoes are required.

FIRST TEE POLICIES:

Dress Code - Tennis shoes or golf shoes only!! All clothes must cover the students, if clothes are too revealing the student may not participate (T-shirt and shorts are fine).

Unbecoming behavior by a student such as club throwing, abusive language, profanity, showing disrespect to workers, or abuse to the facility or course shall be subject to the student being expelled from The First Tee program.
